Wayne was a resident of Detroit, MI and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Lawrence Technological University in 1938. He spent his career as a Mechanical Engineer for Ford Motor Company. Wayne enjoyed sailing, ice skating and hand ball. He once received a Silver Medal for ice skating at Palmer Park and also a Gold Medal for swimming. As a child, Wayne enjoyed spending his summers at the family cottage in Lake Orion and as an adult he still loved visiting Lake Orion. He was the husband of the late Anne Aikens. Father of Susan West, Wayne Aikens, Jr. and the late Karen Harris. Step-father of Richard Fay. Grandfather of Scott Aikens (Holly), Kristie Haerens (Paul), Chuck Fay, Robert Fay and Rose Anne Fay. Great grandfather of Ella Aikens, Emma Aikens, Michael Haerens, Matthew Haerens, Mark Haerens and Tawney Fay.
