Pat was born in Waterville, Maine on Dec 24, 1934, the only child of James Bernard Marsh and Erline Paradis Marsh. She graduated from Waterville High School in 1953 and worked her way through Rockford Women’s College in Rockford, IL where she graduated with Bachelor’s degree in Sociology in 1958. She was married to Norman George Dennis from 1957 until 1971. Pat and Norman had two children, Laurel Ann and Paul Gregory. She and Norman moved to Huntsville in 1964. She met Hal Cronkhite in the summer of 1974 and they were married in Jan 1975. Hal had three children, Michael Jason, Jeffrey Morris and Leslie Ann. Pat and Hal helped them all through adolescence, college and young adulthood. They have four grandchildren, Katie and Scottie Dennis and Carson and Dylan Cronkhite-Rotert.

Pat and Hal were married for 40 yrs. They were constant companions and soul mates. Pat had a wonderful ability to understand what motivated people’s actions and give voice to their feelings. She was never unkind, always fair and her loyalty to those she loved never wavered. Pat enjoyed gardening and bird watching. She loved decorating her house. Part of her soul can be seen in her yard and at her Camp in Belgrade, Maine where she spent her summers with family. Her ready laugh, sense of humor and beautiful smile would light any gathering.

She was an able organizer and manager, both at home and in her work. She could as easily handle an event for a hundred people as she could for five.

Those of us who knew her loved her. She will remain in our hearts throughout our lives.
