Roger Louis Abbott, affectionately known as Bubba, passed away on Monday, September 18, 2017 at Tanner Medical Center Carrollton. He was born May 22, 1963 in Carroll County, Georgia, the son of the late Robert L. Abbott and the late Lois Jean McRae Faulkner. His working career was in construction and he was Baptist by faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, who raised him, Raymond C. L. and Annie Mae McRae; brother, Mitchell Vise; and sister, Carol Marlowe. Survivors include his daughter, November McRae Abbott of Michigan; significant other, Muriel Yates; sisters, Connie Parker and “want-to-be” brother-in-law, Jeff Bornemann of Carrollton, Angela & William Crews of Newnan, Teena & Mark Lowery of Bowdon; brothers, Keith & Brandy Abbott of Newnan, Anthony & Lisa Abbott, also of Newnan; brother-in-law, Duane Parker of Fayetteville, North Carolina; grandchildren by heart, Jasmine Yates, Lilly Yates, Piper Yates, and Kaleigh Yates; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, September 21, 2017 at 2:00 PM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Bradley Keith officiating. Those serving as pallbearers will be Caleb Yates, Keith Dean, Jonathan Yates, Steve Phillips, Jeff Head, and Jeff Bornemann. Robert Crews and SF Sgt. 1st Class, Casey Parker will be seated as honorary pallbearers. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Carrollton.
