Born in Chester, VT. He was son of Francis Eugene and harriet Hazen Benson of Chester, VT. Mr. Benson retired in 1983 as a Master Gunnery Sergeant from the US Marine Corps after thirty years of service, having served in the Korean Conflict and Vietnam Era. He was currently employed with the US Postal Service as a rural mail carrier and was a member of Barlow-Vista Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife, Mary Lewis Benson of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Keith Newman of Forsyth, GA; and brothers, Raymond S. Benson of Weston, VT, and Roy G. Benson of Chester, VT. He is deeply missed.
