One of the last Mattole Natives left in the valley after the genocide. Survivors were rounded up and sent to Round Valley in Mendocino County. Ike's father managed to endear himself enough to the pioneers not to be ousted, and according to local (white) oral history, Ike was buried with other "friendly" Natives around the cemetery's perimeter.
