LAURA SCEARCE RIDDLE, age 80 of Fountain City passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2017. Laura was born in Thorn Hill, TN on April 8, 1937 to the late Henry and Ella (Shockley) Scearce. Laura was a member of Smithwood Baptist Church of Fountain City. A loving mother and friend, Laura provided opportunity and guidance to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening and travel with family and friends in her later years. Laura was preceded in death by her former husband, CG Riddle; daughter, Eva Jean Bowser; grandson, Michael Belt; brothers and sisters: Albert, Coy, Betty Jo, Dorsie, Roy, Ben and Mable. She is survived by her sister, Jean Farmer; daughter, Alice Belt and husband Chuck; son, James Riddle and wife Donna; granddaughters: Nicole Riddle and Shelby Perkins; grandson, Jim Riddle and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Saturday, September 23, 2017 from 6-8 PM at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home, 2300 West Adair Drive, Knoxville, TN. Funeral Services will be on Sunday, September 24, 2017 in the funeral home chapel at 2 PM with Pastor Larry Fields officiating. Burial will follow in Lynnhurst Cemetery with a reception following at Smithwood Baptist Church, 4914 Jacksboro Pike, Knoxville, TN.
