Clyde Stewart McCracken, 78, of 411 Northview Ave: a retired Pennsylvania Railroad engineer, died in Jameson Memorial Hospital at 11 p.m. yesterday.
He was born in Scott. Township, Lawrence County, Jan. 4, 1887, to the late William F. and Katherine Peebles McCracken, He married Alyce Amos: Nov. 10 , 1915.
Mr. McCracken retired from the Pennsylvania : Railroad in 1957 after 48 years of service. He was a member of Clen Moore UP Church ( I can't read it), Mahoning Lodge No. 243 F and AM and the New Castle Consistory.
Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Robert E. (Margaret) McKibben of New Castle and Mrs. Clifford C. (Janis) Miller of Parma Heights, Ohio; and a grandson.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Francis.
Friends will be received in the Robert A. Myers Home for Funerals, 208 North Jefferson St., from 2 to 4 .and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow. , 'A service will be' conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the funeral home by Dr. WilLIam J. Turner Jr.;of len-Moore UP Church. (Burial 'will be in Oak Park Cemetery.)
