Lucille Powell Bryan, 89, of New Bern, died Tuesday, May 19, 2009, at CarolinaEast Medical Center.
She was employed for more than 40 years at Mission Rest Home and was currently a grandparent for the Head Start Program. Her passion was mentoring and motivating youth in the community.
Her funeral will be at 4 p.m. today at River Bend Baptist Church, with the Rev. Steven Simpson officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
She is survived by her children, Irlie Brazzle of New Bern and Phyllis Renee Stanley of Peoria, Ill.; brother, Alexander Powell of New Bern; and 16 grandchildren.
