Gladys M. Proca, formerly of Upper Black Eddy, Pa., passed away Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017, at LifeQuest Nursing Center, Quakertown, Pa. She was 96.

She was born Aug. 31, 1921 in Bucksville, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Sylvester and Florence Heller Moninghoff.

Gladys was last employed by the Bucks County Recorder of Deeds in Doylestown, Pa. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Ottsville, where she served on the Altar and Rosary Society and was a member of St. John Mother's Guild. She was a member of the Upper Bucks Senior Center in Ottsville and in her earlier years attended St. John School and Nockamixon High School.

She is survived by two daughters, Joan Sauers (Richard) and Shirley Largent (Daniel); four grandchildren, Richard Poniktera (Laura), David Poniktera (Connie), Lana Pellegrino (Evan) and Todd Hippauf (Sandi); three step-grandchildren, Dan, Julie and Christopher Largent; ten great grandchildren; one great great grandson and one sister, Elizabeth Allshouse.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John, who died in 2004; three sisters, Agnes Odor, Edith Hoffman and Catherine Litschauer, and one great granddaughter.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 4050 Durham Rd., Ottsville, PA 18942. Interment will be held in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, at the church.
