Nuckolls County resident Carl R. Andersen departed this life on September 27, 2017 at CHI Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska at the age of 81 years.

Carl was born on February 4, 1936 to Clark and Fay Bates Anderson. Carl lived the biggest part of his life in Nuckolls County Nebraska and attended schools there. He served in the military from 1959 to 1961. While in the military he spent 18 months in Germany.

Carl then returned to Nuckolls County and began farming. In 1981 he started Andersen Welding and Repair Shop in Superior, NE.

In 1987 Carl moved to his present home on the farm and continued welding for his many customers. This career spanned 22 years and he retired from it in 2003. At this time he was also engaged in farming and livestock production.

In 1964 Carl was united in marriage to Elsie Schneider. To this union three children were born: Robert K., Trina Faye and Ray Dean. Elsie passed away of cancer in 2003. In 2007 he was united in marriage to Irene McDole Kohn. They continued to farm and raise cattle.

He is survived by his wife Irene; children: Robert Andersen, Trina and husband John Hamm, Ray Andersen and wife Becky; 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; sister Betty Jean Corman, a brother Clarence Andersen and wife Denise other relatives and a host of friends.

Celebration of life services will be held on Monday at 1:30 PM, October 2, 2017 at the Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Superior, Nebraska.

Burial will be held at the Spring Creek Cemetery, Ruskin, Nebraska.

Pastor Jim Stark will be officiating, assisted by Pastor Ben Poole. Memorials may be given in lieu of flowers to the Shriner's Children's Hospital at 2025 E River Parkway, Minneapolis, MN 55414, the Salvation Army or donor's choice.
