Early Life: Barbara was born January 3, 1928, in Hanalei, Kauai, Hawaii, to George Kaluna Kekauoha and Esther Seu Chin Chong.
Life's Work | Service | Interests: On July 21, 1955, she and Duane Aldous were married by the Vice-Consul in Naha, Okinawa, and again the following day by the District President in the Sukiran Chapel. They were sealed for time and all eternity July 5, 1956, in the Laie Hawaii Temple. They enjoyed 62 wonderful years together. Barbara graduated from Utah State University in 1951 with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. As an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Barbara enjoyed serving in many capacities. She served an mission for the Church in Nauvoo, Illinois, from 1997 to 1998 with her husband, Duane. They also spent a year in the BYU sponsored China Teachers Program where they taught English to Chinese students at Jinan University. They served as ordinance workers in the Mount Timpanogos Utah Temple for 12 years. Barbara Kaluapalaoa Aldous died September 29, 2017, at her home after a short battle with pneumonia. She was 89.
Survived By: Her husband, Duane; five children: Keith (Charis) Aldous, Valerie (Rob) Lunnen, Jeffrey (Chantale) Aldous, Melanie (Kirk) Roney, Wade (Sherri) Aldous; 27 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and brother, Clifford N. Kekauoha.
Preceded In Death By: Her parents; three brothers: George W. Kekauoha, Willard K. Kekauoha and Wallace K. Kekauoha; and grandson, Trent B. Aldous.
