Mark Anthony Costain, 58 of Stuart passed away Thursday, September 28, 2017 at Martin Hospital South.

Born October 2, 1958 in Cincinnati, OH he was the son of James Henry and Lois Eileen Costain. Mark's family moved to Riviera Beach when he was one year old and grew up in Palm Beach County.

Mark joined the United States Navy in December 1978 and served four years active duty and two additional years in the reserve. He earned the Good Conduct Medal during his enlistment.

Following his military service, Mark went to Palm Beach Community College and received his Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy. He worked in home health care.

He and his family moved to Stuart from Jupiter in 2005.

Mark enjoyed the outdoors, especially being in the mountains of North Carolina. In Florida, he was an avid gardener but was not as fond of the heat as he was weather in the mountains.

Mark was also devoted to shooting sports and was a strong supporter of the right to bare arms.

Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Maura; sons, Andrew Costain (Jessica) of Lake Port, FL and Patrick Costain of Stuart, FL; sister, Lisa Costain Eimer (Michael) of Surprise, AZ; brothers, Edward Costain of Jupiter and Thomas Costain (Penny) of West Palm Beach; nephews, Michael and Dwayne Costain of Lake Worth and Ryan Downey of Harrisburg, PA.

Mark was predeceased by his parents, James Henry and Lois Eileen Costain and his brothers, James Michael and Christopher Costain.

Memorial contributions in Mark's name may be made to The Nature Conservancy in Florida, 2500 Maitland Center Pkwy #311, Maitland, FL 32751.

A Celebration of Life Service will be 2 PM, Saturday, October 14, 2017, at Treasure Coast Seawinds Funeral Home & Crematory in Stuart.

Military honors will be provided by the United States Navy.
