Victor VEITENHEIMER (1931 - 2017)

Victor Veitenheimer beloved husband, father of four, grandfather of ten, great-grandfather of twelve and great-great-grandfather of one, went to the loving arms of our Lord on September 27, 2017. Victor, the son of Leo and Emilia Veitenheimer was born in Glen Ullin North Dakota on October 16, 1931. He graduated from Missoula High School, served as a Marine for three years during the Korean War and retired from URM after 30 years of employment.

Victor and his loving wife of 60 years Gayle, built a beautiful lake cabin on Deep Lake and enjoyed many years of fishing and family gatherings, providing us with priceless memories. In addition to enjoying hunting and fishing, Victor spent many years raising, training and selling hunting dogs. Victor being a devout Catholic spent many hours with Gayle volunteering at Our Lady of Lourdes making sandwiches for the homeless.

Victor is survived by his wife Gayle; daughter Paula Cozza (John), daughter Sue Wendt (Wayne), son Mark Veitenheimer (Lori), daughter Ann Veitenheimer; and brothers James and Casper Veitenheimer.

Preceded in death by siblings Joe, Lena, Billy and Eleanor.

Victor's family would like to extend deep gratitude to the Sacred Heart hospital doctors and nurses and to the entire staff of "angels" at Hospice House North. We will forever be grateful for their care, love and support. Thank you! In honor of Victor, memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Associate or Hospice of Spokane are welcome and appreciated.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church at 10:00 am on Thursday October 5, 2017, 1115 W. Riverside Ave, Spokane WA. Following mass, a reception will be held in the church reception hall. Services will conclude with the delivery of Military Honors at Holy Cross Cemetery beginning at 2:00 pm. All are welcome to attend. Please consider joining us to celebrate the wonderful life of Victor Veitenheimer.
