Mrs. Ida M. Hicks, 89, 218 S. Chestnut, died yesterday at the McAtee Nursing Home following a protracted illness.
Mrs. Hicks was born in Russia, coming to the United States at an early age. She lived in Iola for many years and operated the peanut and candy stand in the Iola Theater during the 1940s. She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
She is survived by four sisters, Miss Anna Pankratz, Cordell, Okla., Miss Elizabteh Prankratz, Reedley, Calif., Miss Susie Pankratz, Selma, Calif., and Katie Benjamin, Selma.
Services will be conducted by Elder Wilbur Bass at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Porter-Kinser Chapel. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery.
