John Bloomer

John Paul Bloomer, 88, of Eubank, passed away on Monday, October 2, 2017 at his residence.

He was born on January 20, 1929 in Belleville, IN; son of the late Charles and Cordelia Bloomer. He was a power plant operator for the Chrysler Corporation for 30 years, until his retirement in 1984. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, where he served during the Korean Conflict, and a lifetime member for the VFW.

He is survived by his wife, Geneva J. Gadberry Bloomer whom he married on October 25, 1950; one son, J. Bryan & (Jamie) Bloomer; two daughters, Sheila P. & (Bill) Estep, and Sondra J. & (Steve) Papai; a brother, Robert "Bob" & (Martha) Bloomer; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Paul Reid Bloomer; four brothers, Carl Bloomer, Edward Bloomer, Earl Bloomer, and Jack Bloomer; and three sisters, Cordelia "Dee" Kersey, Peg Parsons, and Betty Lou Haltom.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Friday, October 6, 2017 at the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Murrel Crockett officiating.

Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens. A flag presentation will be conducted by a veteran of the American Legion Post #38 Honor Guard.
