F/O Arthur J. Horrell and F/O Louis P. Piché took-off in Auster NJ669 (127 Wing) on a ferry flight from Grave,Holland to Antwerp,Belgium to pick up a Spitfire aircraft. Strayed off course and was shot down by German 20mm Flak. Crashed near the farms of Fleurkens & Jeurissen along the Deurneseweg .Both were Spitfire pilots on 443 Sqn (Royal Canadian Air Force)
Temporary buried Deurne,Netherlands.
Reburied 21/06/1946 Venray warcemetery.
