Hold Services For Former Resident
Grantsdale, Montana - Services were held Monday at Southgate, Calif., for Mrs, Ada Newell Brenton, 766, a former Bitter Root Valley resident who died Thursday night from a heart attack. She had been in failing health for several years.
Survivors include the widower,Roy J. Brenton, and two daughters, Orpha McLean McConnell and Norma McLean Bugg, both of Linwood, Calif; two sisters and a brother, Mrs. A.E. Patterson, Mrs. Donita Greenup and John V. Newell, all of Grantsdale.
Mrs. Brenton was born at Springview, Nebraska, December 4, 1890 and came to the Bitter Root with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Newell, at the age of 6. She lived at Victor, Grantsdale and Hamilton, attending schools in all three communities. She graduated from Hamilton High School.
After her marriage, the couple remained in the Grantsdale community for a few years, then went to California. She last visited in this area four years ago last spring with her son and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Bugg.
