Randy Albertsen, 92, entered into rest on October 2, 2017 in Ripon. He was born to the late Rasmus and Anna Albertsen on January 16, 1925 in Stockton, California.
Randy leaves behind his loving wife of 68 years Mary Albertsen of Ripon and his sister Frankie Rieger of Manteca. In addition he leaves numerous nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly.
Randy was a San Joaquin county resident his entire life. He attended school in Manteca and graduated MHS in 1942. After serving in the US Navy, Randy married Mary Nunes in 1949. He began farming in Stockton , growing various crops before moving to Manteca where he farmed almonds. In the late 1970s he retired from farming and settled in Ripon. He was an active member of the Masonic Lodge of Manteca as a 32nd degree member.
Randy enjoyed spending time outdoors. He spent plenty of time amongst friends, hunting and fishing all over the state. He especially enjoyed duck hunting. His passion for hunting led to gunsmithing and eventually competitive trapshooting. In the late 1980s Randy started what would become a decade of winning championships at the State, Regional and National level. His achievement earned him induction into the National trapshooting Hall of Fame in 2005 and Manteca Hall of Fame in 2013.
Randy was a great friend to many, young and old and he will be truly missed by all who knew him.
P.L. Fry and Son is honored to serve Randy's family. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2017 from 1:00pm to 5:00pm at P.L. Fry and Son Funeral Home, 290 North Union Road, Manteca, CA. A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 6, 2017 at 10:00am at Parkview Cemetery, 3661 E. French Camp Road, Manteca, CA.
