Georgia Mae Flowers Abrames was born January 27, 1920 in Britton, Oklahoma. She peacefully passed away on October 5, 2017 in Grand Junction, Colorado. She was 97 years old.

Georgia is survived by her son, Floyd (Marianna) Abrames, of Grand Junction; her daughter, Bernadine (Gilbert) Sullivan, of Bountiful, UT; 10 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and her brother, Royce Flowers, of Mustang, OK.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Halbert and Myrtle Rudkin Flowers; brother, Billy Flowers; sisters: Helen, Paulina and Estella; daughter-in-law, Mary Kay Abrames; and by her husband, Bernie Raymond Abrames.

Georgia attended school in Hayward, Oklahoma. In 1936, Georgia and Bernie Raymond Abrames were married and later had their two children, Floyd and Bernadine. They lived in various parts of Oklahoma before moving to Lovington, New Mexico when their children were teenagers. Later, Georgia and Bernie moved to Silver City, New Mexico where Georgia was employed for a number of years at Arledge's, a local dress store.

Georgia and Bernie also lived in St. Johns and Page, Arizona before retiring to Mesa, Arizona. They later moved to Grand Junction, Colorado, where they would spend the rest of their lives.

Georgia was a member of the Methodist church. She enjoyed fishing, traveling, and dancing. Her loving companion and dance partner for the past 11 years, Dale Smith, also preceded her in death.

Georgia's family would like to thank the professional and caring staff, nurses, and doctors at Eagle Ridge nursing home, as well as friends and neighbors who loved and cared for her. Georgia had close and loving friendships with many of those individuals, and we are grateful to them.

Funeral services to honor Georgia and celebrate her long and lovely life will be held at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary, Grand Junction, CO on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 3:00 PM. Friends are invited to visit from 2:00 PM until service time.
