Doyle E. Potts, 81, of Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Sioux City, died Sept. 20, 1997, in Mesa, Ariz. Services will be at Christy, Smith and Hockenberry Funeral Home, with the Rev. Roger D. Graf, pastor of Morningside Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Potts was born Dec. 29, 1915, in Castana, Iowa. He lived in Miller, S.D. before moving to Sioux City. He graduated from East High School. He married Myrna L. Baker on Dec. 7, 1974, in South Sioux City. He was employed with Spencer Foods, then formed his own company North Central Cattle Company at the stockyards. He retired nine years ago and moved to Arizona. He was a member of Morningside Masonic Lodge 615 A.F. & A.M., the Abu Bekr Shrine and the White Horse Mounted Patrol. Survivors include his wife; two sons and their wives, Jim and Joan of Afton, Minn. and Dennis and Donna of Pasadena, Calif.; three step daughters and their husbands, Cynthia and Brad Buchholz of Oakland, Neb., Ellen and Mark Ayers of Ripon, Wis. and Dana and Keith Miller of Grafton, Wis.; 17 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas and two sisters, Mary Knowles and Betty West.
