AVERELL ADAM W., on Sept. 23, 2002 of Oaklyn, NJ, beloved husband of the late Catherine (nee Sauder), dear father of 3 sons; Thomas W., his wife Cheryl, grandchildren Ruth and Mark of Westmont, NJ; Brian D., his wife Elizabeth; grandchildren Brian J., David, Amy and Melissa of Collingswood, NJ; and James R. of Los Angeles, CA.

Mr. Averell was an Army Lieutenant in WWII serving in the 96th Signal Battalion in North Africa and Burma. He retired as a Major after 20 years of reserve military service.

He worked for over 40 years, as an electrical technician in the radio, television and computer divisions of RCA, Camden, NJ.

Adam was active in leadership roles with the Boy Scouts of America, Oaklyn Lions Club and the Oaklyn Baptist Church. A lifetime of service to his family, church, community and nation epitomize Adam's full life of 87 years.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit Thursday, from 10 to 11 A.M. at the Oaklyn Baptist Church, 35 E. Bettlewood Ave., Oaklyn, NJ 08107, with the Funeral Service beginning 11 A.M.

Interment Harleigh Cemetery, Camden, NJ. There is no evening Viewing. The family requests memorial donations be made to the Oaklyn Baptist Church at the address above or the American Cancer Society, 1851 Old Cuthbert Rd., Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.

Funeral services are under the direction of CRERAN F.H., Oaklyn NJ.
