HORSE CAVE, KY. - ATWELL, HAROLD L., age 90, of Hardyville, KY, passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2007 at Caverna Memorial Hospital, Horse Cave, KY. He was born in Green Co., KY, on August 10, 1916 the son of Henry and Birdie Atwell. He was a former employee of the Kentucky Highway Maintenance Department, a farmer and cattleman. He served as Hart County Judge from 1974-1978. He was a member of Monroe Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder and he directed the singing for over fifty years. He sang for a number of years with the Monroe Quartet. Survivors include his wife, MaeDell Atwell; a son, Keith Atwell and his wife, Nancy; and a daughter, Karlotta Atwell, all of Hardyville, KY. He is also survived by five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 15, 2007 in the chapel of Winn Funeral Home, with burial in Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. on Wednesday and after 9 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
