Bonnie Ruth Sistrunk Arinder, 83, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, August 17, 2017. She departed peacefully after a day surrounded by much of her family. Visitation was at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence on Saturday, August 19 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Services were held in the funeral home chapel on Sunday, August 20 at 2:00 pm, and burial was at Rocky Hill Church of God Cemetery in Sebastopol, MS.

Along with her husband, Lonnie Ray Arinder, Bonnie took much joy in their ministry of music and singing. She also enjoyed singing in the choir at Bailey Avenue Church of God, and its subsequent congregations, which is now Christway Church of God in Brandon, MS.

Bonnie met Lonnie when they both worked for the State Hospital at Whitfield, MS. After raising three children, and tending others, Bonnie returned to the work force. She and Lonnie both retired from the Mississippi State Crime Lab.

After her Savior Jesus, Bonnie's greatest love was for her family. She was preceded in death by Lonnie, after 55 years of marriage; her parents, Luther and Lucinda Sistrunk; her sister, Waudine Gilmer; and her brother, Gwin Sistrunk. Bonnie is survived by sons, Fabrian (Jackie), and Lorin; daughter, Angelique Shupe (Christopher); grandchildren, Brian, Lane, Bethany, Hunter, and Elianah; great grandchildren, Rayden, Elynnora, Gideon, Alayna and Amelia; brother, Mack Sistrunk; sister, Mary Whitt; in-laws, Bill and Shirley Arinder and Fannie Arinder; many nieces and nephews; and many special friends who are counted as family.
