Leading Aircraftman Raymond Valentine Kiteley lost his life while in training in The Royal Canadian Air Force as ESE of Bamfield, British Columbia when the plane in which he was flying crashed with 14 crew and passengers. All lives were lost and all were buried in 2 common graves nearby, 1 for the men and 1 for the women.

Raymond was the son of Wesley and Mary (Corbett) Kiteley. Husband of Violet (Whitney) Kiteley. Father to David Kiteley who married Marilyn Sigurdson. David and Marily have two children, Patrick and Melinda.

Raymond was killed in a fiery plane crash (just 3 months before his son David was born) while serving in the Royal Canadian Air Force.

After the death of Raymond; David was raised in a single-parent home by his mother, Violet. Pastor Violet Kiteley, became the founder of Shiloh Christian Church.
