Mrs Fred Manthey, aged 82, died at her home on River street, Fifth ward, at 9:30 am Monday, after two weeks illness. The funeral will be held at 2 pm Thursday from the German Evangelical church, Rev G W Reichert officiating. Burial will be in Silver Lake cemetery. The cortege will leave the house at 1:30 o'clock. Mrs Manthey came from Prussia to America and to Portage with her husband thirty-nine years ago. He died in Portage. She leaves three daughters and four sons -- William, Ferdinand, Albert, Portage and August, Chicago. The daughters are Mrs Carl Muetzel, Mrs Ed Baek, and Mrs Herman Baek.
