Truman Elwood "Woody" Aaron passed away on October 13, 2017. He was born on August 31, 1930 in Eldorado, Illinois, the son of Beulah E. and Orval R. Aaron.

He is survived by Phyllis J (Fogil) Aaron, his beloved wife of 61 years; his children, Kevin (Tracey), Kimberly and Kendall (Dale) Soderholm; and grandchildren, Andrew Marotta and Austin Soderholm of Burlington, WI and Savannah Soderholm of Savannah, GA. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews including Britt (Julia) Aaron, Brian (Mary) Aaron, Marianne Aaron and Brent (Debbie) Thompson.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Lanham; and brother, James E. Aaron.

Woody was a Staff Sargent in the US Air Force and served honorably in the Korean War. Upon discharge, he earned his degree in Engineering from the University of Illinois. He was President of Anocut, Inc. and Waukegan Aero and served on the Village Board of Hawthorn Woods for many years. Woody was an avid golfer and had a passion for flying. He loved to travel and visited many countries for business and with friends and family. He was a 32nd degree Mason, served as Master of the Morton Grove Masonic Lodge and was the Commander of the Medinah Aviators. He combined his passion for flying with charitable service by flying children in his plane to the Shriners Hospitals in Chicago and Cincinnati.

Woody has left this earth, but heaven has gained an angel. He is forever in our hearts.

There will be a visitation for Woody on Saturday, October 21, 2017 beginning at 9:00 AM and concluding with a Funeral Service at 10:00 AM at the Kahle-Moore Funeral Home in Cary, IL, 403 Silver Lake Road, Cary, IL. He will be laid to rest following the service with military honors at Windridge Memorial Park, 7014 S. Rawson Bridge Rd., Cary, IL.
