Hildegarde Strychalski Turner, 90, passed away suddenly on October 15, 2017 at Broward Health. She was born on May 18, 1927, in South Bend, Indiana, to the late Julian and Theresa (Grzegorek) Strychalski and lived the greater part of her life in South Florida. After graduating high school, she enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where she met her husband of 50 years, Harold Turner, a fellow marine, who preceded her in death in 2001.

Hilde is survived by her daughters, Denise (Kevin) Flanagan, Kathy (Randy) Elmore, and Alexis (Doug) Werner, and her twin brother, Ray Strychalski, as well as 9 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Her youngest daughter, Jackie Ward, passed away in 2015. Hilde and Ray were the youngest of 12 children. Family reunions were always special for Hilde, with the gatherings usually numbering over 60 family members.

Hilde was interred with her husband at Arlington National Cemetery on April 12, 2018 with full military honors.
