Angels Camp resident. Preceded in death by a son Guy David in 1985, he lost his wife of 67 years Alberta in April of 2017 and a brother Guy Thomas Castle of New York in August. Survived by two sisters Maryanne Buser of Bishop, CA and Alberta “Cry” of Jamestown, CA., he also leaves two sons Jimmy (Jill) of Angels Camp and Daniel ( Georgeanne) of Washington and a sister in law Jeannie Castle of Douglas Flat. Howard was blessed with 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Howard worked at the Calaveras Cement Plant . He was at one time partner in the Angels Food Market for many years before going to work with PG & E where he worked in the Hydro Dept. as a laborer . He obtained his Water Treatment Certificate and worked in Angels Camp, Sonora and Tuolumne City. Later promoted to Field Supervisor at Tiger Creek powerhouse. When he retired, Howard was working as a field supervisor in the Hydro System in Tuolumne County. A member of the Angels Gun Club for over 50 years, Active in the community, he and Alberta were active with the local Whiskerino dances and the Calaveras County Fair. and was a Master Mason for 50+ years through the Bear Mountain Chapter of the Masons.
