Lorene “Rene” Aldridge (Howard) of Mansfield, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 17, 2017, at the age of 86. She lived in Ottawa County for over 60 years and had been residing in Mansfield for the past year and a half. Rene was born to parents, George and Ora Howard (Riffe) on February 25, 1931, in Garrison, Kentucky. She grew up as the eldest of twelve. In 1950 she married her high school sweetheart, Pearl Aldridge, and the couple had four children. Lorene worked 30 years and retired from U.S. Gypsum in 1988. She enjoyed playing bingo, collecting teapots and spending time with family. She loved cooking her favorite meals for extended family and hearing the many compliments.

Lorene is survived by her daughters, Lois Grobe and Debby (Ted) Zieber; her sons, Ross (Cindy) Aldridge and Roger (Nina) Aldridge; her sisters, Bobbie Wilkins, Ruth (Bill) Shertzer, Phyllis Rawlins, Patty (Charles) Norvell and Sharon (Lawrence) Collins; her brothers, Jack (Hilda) Howard, Bill (Christine) Howard, Paul “Perk” (Paula) Howard; nine grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Pearl Aldridge; her parents, George Howard and Ora Stephenson; granddaughter, Hannah Aldridge; her sisters, Janet Middleton and Jacqueline Castle; and her brother, Milfred “Tanker” and beloved sister-in-law, Louise Howard.

Lorene requested no formal service, but close friends and family are invited to attend a gravesite service where her ashes will be buried at Lawrence Furnace Cemetery in Pedro, Ohio, on October 28, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the Kidney Foundation. The Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory of Oak Harbor, Ohio, has assisted the family with arrangements.
