Lawrence G. Hawley, 93, of Nampa, and formerly of Meridian, died Thursday March 24, 1994, at home of natural causes.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, at the Meridian Fifth Ward, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at Amity and Locust Grove roads. Counselor and Bishopric Kent Goldthorpe will officiate. Burial will follow in Cloverdale Memorial Park, Boise. Arrangements are under direction of the Cloverdale Funeral Home, Boise.

Mr. Hawley was born May 20, 1900, at Grass Valley, Ore., the only child of Ben M. and May M. Daugherty Hawley. He was reared in Oregon, and later went to Nampa High School. He graduated from Oregon State College of Agriculture in 1924.

He married Kathleen Woll on May 27, 1926 at Union, Ore. Their marriage was solemnized on Aug 31, 1956, in the Los Angeles LDS Temple. They were the parents of two children Laureen Glenna Hawley — born at Twin Falls, Idaho, and Richard Norman Hawley — born at Nampa, Idaho. Mr. Hawley was baptized a Mormon in 1955 on the occasion of his wife's Kith birthday.

Lawrence worked for Federal State Produce Inspection Service for 20 years. For nine years, the Hawleys operated a Grade A dairy. Mr and Mrs. Hawley lived in Jerome and Parma, Idaho, and California, then returned to Idaho where they were owner-operators of Day-Nite Laundry and Dry Cleaning in Meridian and in Nampa for about 20 years.

Mr. Hawley served as assistant High Priest group leader for four years, and second counselor in the Sunday school for two years. Mr and Mrs Hawley served a mission at Nauvoo, Ill., and worked at the Boise LDS Temple in 1986.

Survivors include a daughter, Laureen G. Carter of Nampa, four granddaughters and a grandson, Linda Waite of Meridian, Lola Climer of Boise, Kathy Climer of Caldwell, Laurens Randall of Nampa, and Larry Climer of Caldwell, seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Kathleen; and a son, Richard.

The family suggests that memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, or flowers may be sent.

Friends may call today from noon until 6 p m and Monday from noon until 6 p.m. at the Cloverdale Funeral Home in Boise. Private family viewing will be Tuesday one hour prior to services at the church.
