Mary Jane Brasher Of Jordan, Arkansas Mary Jane Brasher, daughter of the late Vernon Carothers and Mary Alice Sanders Carothers, was born March 19, 1942 in Memphis, TN. She departed this life October 13, 2017 in Mountain Home, AR at the age of 75 years following a short battle with cancer. She was united in marriage to Tommy J. Brasher May 2, 1959 in Greenville, MS and together they raised two sons. She spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker, nurse, and friend. She was of the Southern Baptist faith and a member of Jordan First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband: Tommy Brasher of Jordan, AR; two sons: Tom Brasher(wife Shelli) of Collierville, TN and Brian Brasher of Bartlett, Tennessee; a brother: Vernon R Carothers of Moscow, TN; three grandsons: Dustin Brasher, Blake Brasher (wife Shanley) and Jared Brasher; a great granddaughter: Evelyn Marie Brasher; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation and funeral service will be held Monday, October 16 at Jordan First Baptist Church, 8273 Highway 177 South, Calico Rock, AR. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Hand Cemetery under the direction of Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in loving memory of Mary Jane Brasher.
