Myrtle Barnes Anderson, age 91, of Whitakers, passed away on Monday, October 23, 2017 at Edgecombe Health and Rehabilitation Center in Tarboro.

She was preceded in death by her husband Willie Mack Anderson; her mother Bessie Rebecca Nobles; and father James Barnes.

She is survived by a loving family which includes her daughters, Dianne Anderson Turner and husband Buddy of Grifton; Rebecca Anderson Clay and husband Wayne of Tarboro, Toni Anderson Joyner and special friend Earl Oldham of Louisburg; son, Willie Mack Anderson Jr. and wife Irene of Canton; sister, Betty Ann Grimes of Dunbar; grandchildren, Shirley Hendricks Bradberry of Lago Vista, Texas, Kim Turner Chambers and husband Joe of Greenville, Eric Clay and wife Kelli of Crisp, Christy Clay Batts and Brian of Surf City, Willie Mack Anderson III and wife Melissa of Tarboro, Jill Joyner and Eric of Louisburg, and Jason Joyner and wife Jess of Raleigh; and fourteen great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Myrtle’s life will be held Friday, October 27, 2017 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Carlisle Funeral Home with Steve Kirkland officiating. The interment will follow the services in Edgecombe Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home one hour prior to the service, and other times at the home of Rebecca Clay.
