Born Sept. 12, 1925, in Lake Milton, he was the son of John M. and Veronica (Hazlen) Adam.
Mr. Adam a job superintendent in the local construction industry. He was a member of Bricklayers Union Local No. 7 of Akron.
He was a member of St. Peter of the Fields Church of Rootstown.
He served with the U.S. Navy from January, 1945 until August, 1946 when he was discharged as a signalman seaman first class.
Survivors include his wife, Jean G. (Cooper), to whom he was married for 50 years; sons, Larry J. (Marie) of Bowerston, and Richard (Beth) of Green; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren;
As well as his brother, Albert Adam of Newton Falls; and sisters, Gertrude Pirko of North Carolina, Mary DeMoss of Texas and Cecilia Hulvey of Mississippi.
His son, John M. III; brother, Edward; and granddaughter, Kelly Lewis, all died previously.
Calling hours will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Wood-Kortright Funeral Home, Ravenna Chapel. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter of the Fields Church of Rootstown. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Randolph. A reception will follow at the Knights of Columbus Hall at St. Peter of the Fields.
