Mrs. Adams was born Sept. 10, 1933, in Yadkin County to Miles D. and Setha Shore.
She was a member of Fall Creek Baptist Church and was retired after 40 years service from Sara Lee Corp. in the knitting department.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Miles Junior Shore; and a sister, Lorene Mook Davis. Mrs. Adams is survived by her husband Richard Adams, to whom she would have been married 50 years on Nov. 10, 2001. Also surviving are her daughter, Linda Adams Wood and husband Donnie of Jonesville; a grandson, Ritchie Wood and wife Marie of Jonesville; two great-grandsons, Adrian and Nicholas Wood; two sisters, Edna Gentry, and Pauline Pruitt and husband Jack, all of State Road; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 20 at Fall Creek Baptist Church by the Revs. Don Hudson and Randy Johnson. Mrs. Adams will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19 at Gentry Family Funeral Home, 4517 Little Mountain Road, Jonesville. Flowers will be accepted, but memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
