Sarah Jane Beals was born January 18, 1857, at Herman, Knox County, Illinois, and departed this life July 2, 1914. She was married to G. E. Lunbeck, March 19, 1874. To this union were born seven children, six of whom, and also her husband survive her. They are Budd, Otto and George Lunbeck and Mrs. Etta Link, of Jackson's Hole, and Mrs. Dora Webber and Mrs. Edna Willey, of Sheridan, Wyoming. Aoo of these, with the father, were able to be with her for several days before death came.

About a year ago, Mrs. Lunbeck underwent an operation for cancer, and, for a time, enjoyed better health, but it soon became evident that the Grim Reaper had marked her for his own. Patiently she bore her pain, hoping and waiting for the better, brighter life. She was conscious to the last, bade farewell to her loved ones, and entreated them to prepare to meet her in the Eternal City.

At the age of seventeen she professed conversion and united with the Baptist church at Washington, Iowa. though not able to attend church at all times, she always did so when an opportunity presented itself. During the time she has lived in the Zenith neighborhood she has been a regular attendant at the mission Sunday School, and an inspiration to the workers.

Funeral services were held in the Baptist church at Jackson, Saturday morning, July 4, and were conducted by Rev. Baxter, assisted by the pastor, Rev. Wardlaw. Interment was made in the Jackson cemetery.
