Sue Strickland, 68, of Middlesex passed away October 30, 2017.

Her funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Joyner’s Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Hollywood Cemetery, Middlesex. The Rev. Buddy Wagnon will officiate. The family will receive friends 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.

Sue graduated from Middlesex High School and Atlantic Christian College (Barton College). She worked several years as an accountant for Carolina Power and Light Company in Raleigh. She was a loving, kind and compassionate person who was fun to be around. Sue was a member of Stoney Hill Free Will Baptist Church.

Sue is survived by her sister, Jane Strickland Finch and husband, Harry; nieces Gwen Finch Deans and husband, Douglas and Harriett Finch Medlin and husband, Scott; great-nieces, Lauralei Deans, Brandi Deans Glover and husband, Andrew and Grayson Deans; great-nephews, Jacob Medlin and Brandon Medlin; aunts, Janice Bailey and Eloise Murray; uncle, Everette Strickland and wife, Martine, step-nephews Greg Taylor, Eddy Taylor and wife, Jackie; step-great nieces, Kristen Puryear and husband, Charles and Caitlyn Taylor; step-great nephew, Matthew Taylor; several cousins; and special friends, David and Jody Strickland.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Allen Harris and Marie Murray Strickland.
