Ramona was born in St. Joseph to Jessie V. and Martha R. (Hixson) Canchola. She was a member of the United States Army, and had served in Saudi Arabia, working on the Patriot Missile. Upon the completion of her military assignment, she was a licensed vocational nurse.
Ramona is survived by her parents; sister, Gloria Canchola, Ft. Worth, Texas; three brothers, Vincent Canchola, Mark Canchola and Dominic Canchola, all of St. Joseph; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at the St. Patrick Catholic Church, St. Joseph. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery, St. Joseph.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Ramona Canchola Scholarship Fund at Bishop LeBlond High School.
