Born in Silveyville, California John was the son of Anne (Bollinger) and Edward Wolfskill. His mother was also known as Annie. When a young boy he resided in Silveyville with his parents and brother. He worked on the family farm, and later was employed as a gas engineer. Veteran of the Spanish American War. John married Ina Winn and they had one child. The couple resided in Oregon for a time, and returned to California where they lived out their lives.
