David Bordoni, 78, of 317 1/2 Utica Street, Ithaca, passed away Monday, October 29, 2007, at Cayuga Medical Center after a short illness. He was born June 30, 1929 in Ithaca, son of the late Giacomo and Santa Elmo Bordoni.

David was retired from National Cash Register Company. During his retirement he served as school crossing guard at Belle Sherman and then at Fall Creek School for over 20 years. He attended Fall Creek School, as did all of his children and grandchildren. The children at Fall Creek were very fond of him and prepared a booklet for him with their photographs and notes of good wishes for his recovery.

David loved sports, playing baseball as a young man, golfing, and was an avid Yankees fan. He also served as ticket usher for the Cornell University Athletics Dept. for many years. He was a member of the Italian Society of Mutual Aid.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Iolanda Olevano Bordoni; his sons, Jack Bordoni of Ithaca, Gary (Patricia) Bordoni of Ithaca, Robert Bordoni of Boynton Beach, FL; and a daughter, Sandra (Clifford) Townsend of Brooktondale; beloved grandchildren, Jennifer and Matthew Bordoni of Ithaca, and Clifford and Trevor Townsend of Brooktondale; sisters-in-law, Mary Miller and Elissa Olevano; brother-in-law, Leon Spencer; three nieces and many cousins. He is also survived by his beloved little dog, Cece. He was predeceased by his sister, Teresa Bordoni Spencer.
