Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Litzinger Carpenter, age 78, died Sunday, January 1, 2012, at Meadowview Regional Medical Center, in Maysville, Kentucky. She was born on July 6, 1933, to the late Frank and Emma Kalb Litzinger. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wayne "Bob" Carpenter, who passed away June 10, 2002. She is survived by: her children, Debbie Shields, of Minerva, Mary Poston, of Maysville, David Carpenter, of Bristol, Virginia, and Jody Carpenter, of Dover; one sister, Margaret (Thomas) Jackson, of Newport; and two brothers, John (Ruth) Litzinger, of Georgetown, Ohio, and Paul (Sue) Litzinger, of Maysville. She was preceded in death by: a son, Robbie Carpenter; son-in-law, Roy Poston; two sisters, Catherine Schweitzer and Josephine Fulton; and three brothers, James Litzinger, Frank Litzinger and Gene Litzinger.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Augustine Catholic Church. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Palmer Funeral Home in Germantown. Rosary will be at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday. Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
