Lottie Mae “Lottie” Pickett (Strawn), age 84, of St. Augustine, died unexpectedly on October 26, 2017 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Jacksonville. Lottie was born on September 27, 1933 in Mt. Dora, Florida to Walter and Bertha Strawn. In 1951 she graduated from Mt. Dora High and married her husband Donald in 1953. She was a longtime resident of Charlotte, NC, later she moved to Franklin, NC and has most recently been residing in St. Augustine for the past 12 years. She was very much a people person and loved being around people. For over 20 years on and off she worked at Gulf Life as a secretary where she later retired. She was a member of Church of Christ Lakeside in Orange Park and also attended St. Augustine Church of Christ. Lottie was a caregiver to many but more than anything she was a loving mother, and grandmother, she will be sorely missed.

She is survived by her son, Donald E. Pickett, Jr. (Suzanne), of St. Augustine, Fl; grandson, Curtis L. Pickett of Jacksonville, Fl; granddaughters Loretta Taylor (Wade) of St. Augustine, Fl, Jayde Chatham (Philip) of Umatilla, Fl; sister, Grace Brozak of Orange Park, Fl. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Donald E. Pickett Sr. and son, Ronnie Pickett.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 6, 2017 at St. Augustine Church of Christ, 2900 Lewis Speedway, St. Augustine, Florida with Brother Bob Burkert officiating. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Lottie’s life.
