On July 3, 2016 at 9:00 am Michael Leming passed away at his home surrounded by loving family.

He was born on July 25, 1950 to Earl and Ethel Leming in Pineville, Kentucky. He served honorably in a United States Army Mash Unit during his youth.

He moved to Macon, GA in 1981 with his wife Velma and daughter Lesley to continue working for Brown & Williamson when they opened the plant in Macon. He retired from Brown and Williamson in 1998 and was a long serving deacon at Lizella Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, barbeque and Atlanta Braves Baseball.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years Velma, his daughter Lesley Johnson (Jeremy) and his grandson Duncan Caudill of Macon, GA. He is also survived by his sisters Brenda Zion (John) of Jonesville, VA, Linda Bradley (Michael) of Louisville, KY, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Mike was a loving Husband, Father, Papaw, Brother and Friend. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 7, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Lizella Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Dr. Shannon Back and Reverend Chris Minton will officiate. A visitation will be held Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. in Fairhaven Funeral Home, 4989 Mount Pleasant Church Road Macon.

In Lieu of flowers, the family request donations to the Lizella Baptist Church, 2950 South Lizella Road, Lizella, Ga. 31052, www.lizellabaptist.net.
