My paternal grandmother whom I do not remember. She was married to Jessie Sharp Oct. 16, 1907. He survived her and died Feb. 26, 1971. I know that she was from KY and lived in IL on a farm next to my parents when I was born. My parents divorced when I was nine months old. I never saw them after that. Years later they moved to Aurora and Lawrenceburg, IN and lived there til she died.
I have heard that she was a very stern woman. One of my father's sister died early after the birth of her daughter and I know they raised that granddaughter as their own so, in those years the widowers usually turned the child rearing over to the parents of the deceased mother..I am sure they were busy raising that child.
I know I was named after her and my maternal grandmother.
