Mass for Daniel P. O’Brien Jr., 43, a former Cook County Board member and former state senator and representative, will be said at 10 a.m. Monday in Holy Name Cathedral. He was killed Wednesday in a car accident near Naples, Fla. Mr. O’Brien served in the Illinois Senate from 1971-1973 and in the Ilinois House from 1977-1983. He was a county commissioner from 1982-1986 and former 43rd Ward Democratic committeeman. In recent years his main residence was in New Buffalo, Michigan. Where he developed a motel, restaurant and retail complex. He is survived by his wife, Susan; a son Daniel P. III, his parents, Daniel Sr. and Mary; four sisters; and a brother, Peter.
