Born Oct. 16, 1933 in Bedford, he was the son of Ed and Jessie (Shanks) Adams.
He was a truck driver and worked in long distance moving. An U.S. Army veteran, he attended Shawswick High School.
Survivors include one sister, Emma Stogdill of Bedford; three brothers, Herschel Adams of Montgomery, James Adams of Conway, S.C., and Kenneth Adams of Bedford; his caregiver, John P. Poellien of Dale and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and four brothers, Walter, Herman, Clarence and Dennis Adams.
Service will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home in Bedford. Burial will be at Green Hill Cemetery in Bedford.
