Linnea Larson, 89, passed away on November 1, 2017. She was born on September 20, 1928 in Rockford, Illinois, the daughter of Carl Edwin and Anna Amanda (Frojd) Carlson.

Linnea graduated from East High School in 1947. She married Melvin L. Larson on June 5, 1954 in Rockford. He predeceased her on August 25, 1984.

Linnea was a lifelong member of Salem Lutheran Church. She enjoyed sewing and crafts, especially plastic canvas stitching, Bingo, singing, and in her younger years she liked to bowl.

Being a twin with her brother Eric was very important to her. Her family brought her so much joy, and she loved sharing family photos. She was proud of her Swedish heritage and loved to share the origin of her name: the flower of Sweden.

She is survived by: her children, Daniel M. (Ruth) Larson, Karin (Steve) Green, and Carol (Jim) Hughes; grandchildren, Trisha (Ed) Kornecky, Laura Larson, Amanda (Steve) O'Brien, Jasmun and Reiner Hendrick, Melanie (David) Fager, Nathan Green, and Kayla, Kara, and Kelsey Hughes; great-grandchildren, Logan and Leah O'Brien, Evan and Blake Kornecky, and Oliver Fager; sister, Viola Crowell.

Predeceased by: parents; husband; twin brother, Eric; sister, Elsie.

Funeral Services on Monday, November 6, 2017 at Olson Funeral Home. Burial in Scandinavian Cemetery.
