A Panic among the Slaveholders of this County
Sometime during the Christmas holidays, two likely slaves (boys) belonging to Mr. Archer Womac (living near Greenupsburg) ran off as it is supposed upon the underground Railroad, as this, in connection with other causes not necessary to mention, has induced Mr. Womac to sell several of his slaves, and other gentleman owning blacks have thought is advisable to send them to the interior of the State as it is not considered safe to keep slaves so near the border.
