This photo was taken on a whim in Atlanta. Dedie and friends passed a photography shop, she quickly fixed her hair into an up-do, and sat for the shot.

A Georgia Normal College student at the time Dedie was a student there. Student records were destroyed in a fire in the Main Building in 1924.
