Mrs. Friedrika Brigel seventy three years old, widow of the lat Michael Brigel, Marion's pioneer saddle and harness maker, died of heart trouble at her home, No 335 Leader Street, Sunday morning at 5:35 o'clock. She had been ill for six weeks and her death was not expected.
Mrs. Brigel's maiden name was Eibling. She was born in Richland township January 25, 1839 and has always lived in Marion county.
July 4, 1862, she was united in marriage with Mr. Brigel, who died a number of years ago For many years she lived in the brick residence that stood on the site of where the new fire station is being built on Prospect street. She was the mother of six children, five of whom survive. They are: Mrs. Sofronia Klehm, John M Brigel, William F Brigel and Miss Mayme Brigel of Marion & Louis G Brigel of Anchorage Alaska.
Mrs. Brigel was a woman of the highest character, and her death will be learned with deep regret by the hundreds who enjoyed her friendship. She was a member of the Reformed Church on Prospect Street.
