Geneva Wyatt, 81, of St. Charles, passed away peacefully on September 2nd, 2008, at her residence in St. Charles. Geneva was bom March 23, 1927, in Perryville, TN, the daughter of John (Ezra) and Virginia (Glidewell) Rhodes. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 45 years, William J. Wyatt; daughter, Judith Ann (Wyatt) Vanthournout; son-in-law, Phillip Robinson; four brothers, Ollie Newt, Jerry Paul, Quinon Eugene, and Jimmie Sheves Rhodes; and brother-in-law, Richard (Dick) Aud. She is survived by her daughter, Wanda (Wyatt) Robinson; three sons, Colonel (Retired) Jake (Wayne) Wyatt and wife, Judy (Johnson), of St. Charles, IL, Rick J. Wyatt and wife, Cindy (Anderson), of Greensboro, NC, and Kenneth D. Wyatt and wife, Lori (Oughton), of Denver CO; son-in-law, Thomas Vanthournout of Jacksonville, FL; and daughter-in-law, Bobbie (Wyatt) O'Dell; fourteen grandchildren, P. Benjaman, Bradley, Steven, Sarah (Awe), Douglas, Michael, Todd, Nicole (Fenner), Lisa (Kovar), David, and Daniel Wyatt, and Thomas, Timothy, and Elizabeth Vanthournout; thirteen great-grandchildren, Jocelyn, Simone, Xavier, Wyatt, and Amelia Awe, and Madison, Christian, Caden, Carson, Cooper, Andrew, Colton, and Ashley Wyatt, and expecting her fourteenth great-grandchild, Ava McNevie Kovar, in November. She is also survived by three sisters, Bonnie (Brewer) Bogle of DeKalb, IL, Margie (Aud) Tzoylis of Weatherby, MO, Toni Gates of Clearwater, FL; three brothers, Mack Rhodes of Oak Lawn, IL, Ted Rhodes of Aurora, IL, and Frank Glidewell of Rockford, IL; numerous nieces, nephews, sister- and brothers-in-law in the area. Geneva and her husband relocated to the St. Charles area in 1952 from Dyersburg, TN. During her first 30 years in the St. Charles area her focus was on the family and being a homemaker. Later in life she became a close friend of Helen Robinson (Kane County Flea Market) where she was employed by the Flea Market and then became interested in the food concession business. Geneva started her own business "Kane County Concessions" in the 80's that supported Toy, Doll, Train, and numerous other shows at the Kane County Fairgrounds with her famous Country Breakfast (Eggs & "Shausage"). Geneva loved spending time with her family and grand and great-grandchildren that often required her and her husband to travel [to] Europe, Alaska, Hawaii, Mexico, and the Caribbean. She was a member of the St. Charles Moose WOTM and Baker Memorial Methodist Church of St. Charles. Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday at the Yurs Funeral Home, St. Charles. Burial will be at Union Cemetery St. Charles. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
